Good point

Loved the concept of ryokan style. The location and ambience is perfect especially if you want to immerse into their culture.

Bad point

It’s a bit difficult to look for it. I got lost around Gion and reached the Pagoda unexpectedly looking for it. The Ryokans in the area all look the same from the outside.

Good point

Love the decor and setup. The Dorm bed has plenty of space and privacy. There is a nice common area on the third floor that is overlooking the garden.

Bad point

Although it was in the heart of the Higashiyama area, it was far from any train station so if you have heavy luggage, you should take a taxi

Good point

A great location, away from the bustle of Downtown but still within easy walking distance of many of the main things you might want to see. Located in a very quiet, authentic feeling area - particularly lovely to walk through in the evenings.
