For first-time guests

Thank you for visiting the Gion Ryokan Q-beh website.

This page explains frequently asked questions and important points to note for first-time guests staying at Gion Ryokan Q-beh. Q-beh is classified as the business of operating a common lodging house (≒ hostel, guesthouse) under the Hotel Business Act of Japanese Law. Given the nature of simple lodging, we understand that there may be some inconveniences, but we will do our best to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Aged building

Parts of our ryokan, such as the entrance, were built in the late Meiji era (1868-1889), making it a historic building. The guest rooms have been renovated several times, but as it is a wooden building, deterioration over time is unavoidable, and defects such as drafts occur. We appreciate your understanding.

Quiet area

There is a Japanese garden next door, and a row of kaiseki restaurants and ryokan inns, so small insects may occasionally appear within the facility. Also, on sunny summer mornings, the sounds of cicadas may be noisy, but please bear with us as this is due to the location. By the way, the garden can be seen from Cafe KawataRo.

Shared equipment

Compared to hotels, inns, private lodgings, and rental accommodations, there are many facilities that are shared with other guests. At Gion Ryokan Q-beh, the following facilities are shared (with the exception of JPN Style Ensuite):

  • Inside a shared room (dormitory room)
  • Washrooms (located on each floor)
  • Restrooms (located on each floor)
  • Three shower rooms
  • Kitchen
  • Living
